After installing XAMPP and creating a database – as described in previous posting, it is now the time to install WordPress. Here is how to install it.
- Extract wordpress.zip file you have downloaded and save it into the folder \xampp\htdocs (or on folder c:\xampp\htdocs if you installed XAMPP on C:.). To extract wordpress.zip, right-click the file dan select [Extract All...]. Click [Next] and [Browse] to c:\xampp\htdocs and click [Next].

- Activate XAMPP and run browser then type http://localhost/wordpress/. In the next screen that appear click [Create a Configuration File].

- Click [Let's go!].

- On the next screen fill [Database Name] field with wordpress and [User Name] with the root. Leave [Password] field empty. (Remember, in the previous stage, you have created a database named wordpress and root as user name.) Leave the [Database Host] and [Table Prefix] field as is. Click [Submit].

- In the next window click [Run the install].

- Fill in [Blog Title] with the title of your blog and fill in [Your E-mail] with your email address. You do not need to worry about the title, because you can change it later on. Click [Install WordPress].
- You have been successful to install WordPress. Make note of your username and password. Click [Log In].

- Type your username and password. You will be in WordPress Dashboard.

- Now you are in the WordPress admin screen. View your blog by clicking [Visit site] – see above, next to your blog title.

- Here is your first blog.

At this point you already have your own blog site. You have to do next: post some contents, manage your site, or change your blog design (theme). Follow the next tutorial – see articles on Tutorials category.
